Год назад доктор Норман Спенсер изменил своей красавице жене Клер. Но эта связь не получила продолжения, Клер о ней не узнала, и семейная жизнь Спенсера течёт отныне столь гладко, что когда Клер рассказывает мужу о таинственных голосах, которые она слышит, и о молодой женщине, появляющейся, как призрак, в их доме, Спенсер спешит объяснить страхи жены галлюцинациями. Но постепенно Клер начинает открываться, правда, и тогда становится ясно, что привидение не исчезнет, что оно пришло за доктором Норманом Спенсером и его женой.
